Vladislav Ikonomov, director (Bulgaria)
Bulgarian director and screenwriter, born in 1938 in Sofia. Graduated from the State High School for Theater and Cinema in Lodz, Poland (1961). Professor at the Krustyo Sarafov National Academy for Theater and Cinematic Arts, where he teaches film directing. Vladislav Ikonomov has also worked as a director on co-productions in Poland in Poland and at the ‘Boyana’ film studios. He has been honored with various international awards for his work. His most famous films include 24 Hours of Rain (1982), Filio and Makenzen (1979), The Day of the Rulers (1986) and others.
Vladislav Ikonomov was awarded the Sofia Municipality award for outstanding achievements in world cinema in 2008.
His film 24 Hours of Rain was screened during the festival.
